Selling more the 200 beds in the period of one year.

I learned many things during the process, from creating an amazon account and its requirements, Contacting suppliers and overseeing the shipment, all the way to creating a marketing campaign and managing the ads, questions and orders.

Branding and publicity

As a designer, I was excited to design my own brand and logo. After generating enough artwork and photos I started creating content on social media, using Facebook, Instagram, and Amazon as my main platforms for publicity.

Finding the right supplier

The main learnings:

  • It’s important to be fair and comprehend where the prices are originating.

  • Good communication, being clear on what I want, on what is possible, and overcoming the barrier language.

  • Willing to adapt and provide adjustments on the products.

Coordinating the shipment

Main learnings:

  • Knowing my options. By asking many shipment providers I started learning the kinds of transportation, how long each of them took, and the difference in the pricing.

  • Another very important factor was the delivery time. One must learn when to order so you are not over or under-stock.

Selling through Amazon FBA

After manufacturing the products in Hangzhou - China they were sent directly to Amazon USA. Using Amazon FBA for managing storage and shipping, they were stored in 3 different warehouses to maximize delivery times. And customers could just log into Amazon to create the order.
